Scope of work: Architecture Lead Design Consultant from feasibility to Hand-Over
Christ’s Hospital School is an independent school located in the West Sussex countryside close to the market town of Horsham.
Plan A was, first of all, asked to work with the pupils and staff to develop concept options for a replacement student-entertainment venue which could also be used as a formal auditorium by the School for organised lectures, events and seminars.
We then worked with Horsham DC and Historic England to develop the design-concepts towards a Planning Application which was granted permission in 2016.
Our role then extended to leading a full Design Team to create a set of construction information which was then competitively tendered as a D&B Contract. We remained involved throughout the construction period and were very happy to see the completed building handed-over to the School, delivering for them a sophisticated, modern building which incorporates and retains many of the historical features of buildings across the campus.
